Synthetic ice coil in cell sheets
Polar Icegel synthetic ice reel certified for use in the food transport sector, composed of 5,138 cells. Dimensions: 40x30x20 cm, weight: 6.5 kg. Total activated ice for use: 188 kg. Technological and certified solution for the temperature-controlled transport of perishable foods. A valid alternative to refrigerated vans.
How to use synthetic ice in cell sheets
Soak the inactivated sheets in plain water for a couple of hours (the cells should be nicely swollen, and a 6-cell cushion should weigh about 220 grams, a 12-cell cushion about 440 grams, and a 24-cell cushion about 880 grams). The water absorption time is inversely proportional to the salinity of the water: the saltier it is, the longer the cell activation process takes.
Place the activated sheets in the freezer to freeze for at least 48 hours (where they can remain forever until ready to use).
Important! The cells must be stored horizontally, even on top of each other (plastic to plastic, or plastic to fabric, but not fabric to fabric, to prevent them from sticking together).
After which the cells are ready to be used.
For your shipments, we recommend using polystyrene containers at least 2.5 cm thick and filling any gaps with crumpled plastic or polystyrene chips.
Synthetic ice for shipping in reusable cell sheets, certified for use in the temperature-controlled shipping of perishable foods. A valid alternative to refrigerated vans. Flexible product that can be cut to fit individual cells.
